Gordon is a distinguished employment law attorney and founding partner of Gordon Law Group, LLP, based in Boston, Massachusetts. With more than 30 years of practice, he is widely respected for his meticulous, client-centered approach: he listens attentively, devises strategies crafted to individual needs and relentlessly pursues each client’s interests. From wrongful termination and wage and hour disputes to claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and denial of reasonable accommodations, Mr. Gordon represents a diverse array of individuals – including older workers, women, minorities and low-wage earners – who have faced injustice in the workplace. His formidable trial skills and familiarity with both state and federal courts have led him to litigate some of Massachusetts’s most significant employment cases, most notably serving as co-counsel in a $40 million class action against Walmart. He also excels as a negotiator, frequently employing mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution to achieve favorable outcomes without protracted litigation. An academic at heart, Mr. Gordon graduated from Bowdoin College before earning his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York, before numerous federal district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. A prolific writer and speaker, he contributes articles to leading professional publications and lectures regularly on cutting-edge employment law topics. Mr. Gordon’s skill has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2016, and in 2006, he received the Boston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award. He remains deeply engaged in professional and civic service – he chairs two committees of the National Employment Lawyers Association, serves on its class action committee, participates in the American Bar Association’s Federal Labor Standards Legislation Committee and lends his skills to nonprofit causes through the Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition and the Wage and Hour Project of the Volunteer Lawyers Project.
