Biography
Bert Ketchum is a partner at Greene, Ketchum, Bailey & Tweel LLP in Huntington, West Virginia, and a veteran plaintiff’s trial lawyer whose practice concentrates on medical malpractice and personal injury in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. His work also encompasses wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims, motor vehicle collisions, defective products, premises liability and workplace injuries.
Mr. Ketchum has extensive trial experience in both State and Federal courts throughout West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. He has tried numerous cases to jury verdict including medical malpractice, wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents and workplace injury matters. His skilled trial advocacy has resulted in unprecedented jury verdicts for several of his clients.

A native of Huntington, Mr. Ketchum earned his B.B.A. cum laude from Ohio University, where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. After law school, he returned to Huntington in 1994 to enter practice with his father. His professional contributions and legal achievements have been recognized by several honors, including selection to the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. In 2007, Mr. Ketchum named one of West Virginia’s 40 Best and Brightest Professionals Under 40. He earned a diploma from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), held at Northwestern University School of Law, in 1998.
Mr. Ketchum is active in the legal and civic community, serving on the Board of Governors of the West Virginia Association for Justice, the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia, and the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Public Defender Corporation for the 6th and 24th Judicial Circuits.
