Biography

Attorney  has lived most of his life in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His family has run Sabatini’s Pizza in Exeter for more than 60 years, and he spent years of his childhood and early adulthood at the restaurant. He went to Bucknell University for his undergraduate work, and, after graduating, opened Sabatini’s Restaurant in Clarks Summit. While managing the restaurant, he also commuted to Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg. Shortly after graduating from law school in 1999, Carlo opened his own law practice. He has been a stalwart in the local legal community for more than 20 years, helping good people who have fallen on bad times. Since becoming a lawyer, Carlo has limited his practice almost exclusively to helping individuals who are dealing with financial difficulties. Carlo is the past-president of the Middle District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Bar Association, where he was honored to provide leadership and guidance to local bankruptcy attorneys. Carlo is the only attorney with an office in Luzerne or Lackawanna Counties who is Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. For the last five years, he has been the only attorney in Northeastern Pennsylvania that was selected to the annual list of Bankruptcy Super Lawyers. Carlo’s representation of his clients doesn’t stop when the bankruptcy case is filed. One of the most important aspects of bankruptcy is the breathing period that the filing provides to a consumer. Generally, all collection activities must stop when the bankruptcy case is pending. However, some entities ignore this requirement, and Carlo is ready to vindicate his clients’ rights—whether that means simply sending a letter or filing a lawsuit. He will also represent his clients when collectors improperly attempt to collect on a debt that was discharged in a bankruptcy case. Unfortunately, the bankruptcy process can be ripe for abuse. Creditors sometimes seek to recover fees and expenses improperly, or they refuse to provide a consumer with information to which they are entitled. Carlo uses his skills and years of experience to protect his clients from issues like these and much more. Carlo and his wife Kristin have three children (Gianna, Marygrace, and Caroline) and two dogs (Faith and Frankie). Carlo enjoys CrossFit, coaching Caroline’s soccer team, and pizza (of course).
