Chance D. Lynch

Chance D. Lynch is a native of Enfield, Halifax County, North Carolina. He earned an English degree from North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC in 2006 and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law, Durham, NC in 2009. His leadership and barrister abilities were highlighted while in law school where he served as the Student Bar Association President, representing the HBCU law school among notables and across the country. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Halifax County and then as a criminal defense attorney. Over the last 14 years, Chance has served eastern North Carolina as one of its most sought-after attorneys. In 2020, Chance founded the legal practice, Lynch Law, PLLC., aiming to give voice to the oppressed and providing advocacy that strengthens. Lynch Law’s main office is located in “The Queen City”, Charlotte, North Carolina and has an Eastern NC office in Rocky Mount, NC. The firm provides legal representation on minor criminal matters, family law and civil rights. His unwavering commitment to serving the indigent and underserved has landed him on national matters, serving as legal counsel on several high-profile civil rights cases across the nation. Chance has served as legal counsel for the family of Andrew Brown, Jr., the young black man shot and killed by sheriff deputies while driving away in Elizabeth City, NC. He is currently counsel for Christopher Shaw, the 41 years old black man left paralyzed by Beaumont Texas police and the family of Brandon Combs, a white man shot and killed by police in Concord, North Carolina. His career has afforded him appearances on several national television platforms: CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” with Anderson Cooper, and “Don Lemon Tonight” with Don Lemon, Good Morning America, BNC News and highlighted by The Breakfast Club, just to name a few.  Most recently, Chance has been featured and included in the Top 100 Most Influential Black Americans for 2022 by The Root, a major national publication housed in New York City, New York. A 2023 recipient of North Carolina A&T State University: A&T Four Award, the university’s highest civilian recognition, Chance’s community activism is extensive. He leads and serves on community boards that span from North Carolina to New York City, NY. He is a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega National Coeducational Fraternity, Inc. and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. An ordained minister at age 16, Chance is the author of “Faith Made Me Do It: A 21 Day Devotional” that was released in 2018. Chance is the father of two amazing daughters, Zoey and Zion.
