Biography
Chris Short is a partner at Kiefer & Kiefer, where he focuses on personal injury and insurance defense. His litigation experience includes criminal and domestic matters, oral argument in district courts across the state, and judge and jury trials.
Chris finds it a privilege to represent both major insurance companies and injured individuals. This diverse client base helps him and his team stay grounded and look at each case from multiple perspectives. He views every case as a learning opportunity, recognizing that no two injury cases are the same.
Before joining Kiefer & Kiefer, Chris served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge Raymond Steib Jr. of the 24th JDC. His many years of experience with the Judge provided him with a wealth of litigation insight and a unique perspective on effective and efficient client representation. Chris also worked at Martzell, Bickford & Centola, where he took part in high-profile personal injury cases, including a death case stemming from Deepwater Horizon.
Chris graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University Law School, where he served as Senior Associate Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. He also attended California State University Maritime Academy.
Chris serves as a Board Member for the Pro Bono Project and has served as a committee member and sub-chair for the Justice for All Ball. His pro bono work includes criminal, domestic, landlord-tenant, and general business disputes.
