Biography

Clayburn T. Curtis completed his Bachelor’s in Economics at Oklahoma State University with minors in Philosophy and Sociology before earning his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2011. During law school, he received honors such as an academic achievement award in Criminal Procedure and multiple appearances on the honor roll. Actively involved in the Criminal Defense Clinic, Clay provided pro bono representation and participated in moot court and various intramurals. He also gained experience in medical malpractice defense at Wiggins Sewell and Ogletree. He furthered his education at the Trial Lawyers College and completed specialized training in criminal defense and crime scene investigation. Following his tenure at the Public Defender’s Office, Clay joined the Buxton Law Group, focusing on personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights claims, before founding his own firm, Clay Curtis Law PLLC, specializing in criminal defense. He later established Overman Legal Group and Climb-Collective. Known for his fierce advocacy and dedication to justice, Clay treats his clients as friends and has resolved over 2500 criminal cases. In 2019, he was awarded the Clarence Darrow Award by his peers, recognizing him as the Criminal Defense Lawyer of the Year in Oklahoma.
