Biography
Mr. Brown was recently named by The Best Lawyers in America as the Washington metropolitan area's 2024 Lawyer of the Year for claimants in the field of Workers' Compensation Law. He was honored to receive this distinction in 2017, 2019, and 2022 as well. The Best Lawyers in America is the oldest peer review guide to the legal profession and awards Lawyer of the Year recognition to individual attorneys with the highest overall peer feedback for a specific practice area and geographic location. Only one lawyer is recognized as the Lawyer of the Year for each specialty and location.Mr. Brown recently recovered a $3,000,000.00 settlement in a complex personal injury claim against the United States Government.
Mr. Brown began his journey toward a legal career at the University of Virginia, where undergraduate courses in American Legal History and Business Law served to heighten his interest in the legal profession.
While attending law school at the University of Richmond, his success in the Moot Court program and his particular fondness for Torts and Evidence coursework instilled in Mr. Brown a desire to make his living in the courtroom representing the injured and disabled.
Following law school, Mr. Brown was honored to serve a two-year clerkship with the Supreme Court of Virginia, during which he gained invaluable insights regarding Virginia's legal system. He also saw the ways in which that system sometimes placed individuals at a disadvantage against corporate interests and their armies of lawyers. Mr. Brown has dedicated his entire career to doing battle with those armies for the sake of "the little guy."
