Complete Acquittal in Aggravated Child Rape Case – Worcester County: Attorney Daniel Reilly, with Attorney Patrick Garrity, secured not-guilty verdicts on all counts for a client facing multiple aggravated child rape charges carrying 15 years to life. After a multi-day trial with civilian and medical testimony, the jury deliberated for about three hours before returning a complete acquittal. This was Attorney Reilly’s second full acquittal in an aggravated child rape trial in just over 12 months, reflecting his meticulous preparation, strategic cross-examination, and strong command of high-stakes criminal trials. Commonwealth v. Crosbie: In June 2025, lead counsel Daniel Reilly, along with Patrick Garrity, represented Terence Crosbie, an Irish firefighter charged with rape, in a high-profile trial that gained national and international media coverage. After nearly two weeks of testimony and days of jury deliberations, the jury deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial. The defense, which emphasized identification issues and the lack of corroborative DNA evidence, represented Mr. Crosbie again in his retrial in October of 2025. The retrial has been covered extensively on Court TV, and was closely followed by the Boston Globe and other media outlets. A jury verdict is pending.
