A northerner by birth, Mr. Betts found his love for Texas while attending law school at the University of Texas – Austin. While in law school, Mr. Betts focused his training on advocacy through moot court and mock trial competitions, winning tournaments and best advocate awards in the process. He served as editor-in-chief of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal and has been published in the Texas Review of Law and Politics on the topic of judicial campaign donations.
