Attorney David A. Sleppy is a member of the Cathey & Strain law firm in Cornelia, Georgia. Nationally recognized as one of the country's preeminent trial advocates, Mr. Sleppy has more than 30 years of legal experience that he brings to help clients throughout Georgia increase their chances of obtaining the maximum amount of compensation they deserve for their personal injury and wrongful death claims.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sleppy has served as first or second chair in dozens of jury trials in state and federal courts across his region, and he has extensive experience successfully handling appeals. A 1978 summa cum laude graduate of Gettysburg College, Mr. Sleppy obtained his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University, National Law Center in 1981. He holds his license to practice in the District of Columbia as well as Georgia, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th and 11th Circuits.
A consummate professional, he maintains active involvement in his legal community through his memberships with various local, state and national legal organizations, including the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Association for Conflict Resolution and the American Board of Trial Advocates, among others.
Widely regarded as a leader in his field, Mr. Sleppy has numerous publications to his credit, and he has served as an adjunct legal professor. He has also accepted invitations to speak at organizations such as the Center for International Legal Studies, and he has appeared on numerous television and radio broadcasts, as well as in many national print news publications.
