David Mann was elected in November 2013 to serve on Cincinnati City Council. Mayor Cranley appointed him as Vice-Mayor of Cincinnati. David previously served on council for 18 years, including three distinguished years as mayor.
David was elected to the 103rd Congress as the representative from Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, which then included most of the city of Cincinnati.
David’s earliest public service was serving in the United States Navy for four years. As a lieutenant, David served on the USS. English (DD-696), a destroyer that was one of the first ships to reach Cuban waters during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Prior to active duty in the Navy, David attended Harvard College on a Navy ROTC scholarship and was selected as the midshipman commander of the Naval ROTC battalion at Harvard. David graduated cum laude with a major in biochemical sciences.
