Kohm received his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1982. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas in December 1989. He was admitted to the Texas Bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District in 1990. LaVern D. Richards, Jr. has been practicing personal injury law in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex for the past 19 years. Although he is named LaVern after his father, almost everyone just calls him "Vern." He has extensive experience in all aspects of representing clients in personal injury cases, and believes in giving every case the individual attention it deserves. After living all over the country, Vern graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia with a bachelor's degree in history. Vern attended law school at Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and decided to put roots down in Texas.  After he worked for several personal injury firms in Dallas before establishing his own firm in 2014. Vern married his lovely wife, Tiffany, a preschool director from Joshua, Texas, in 2011. Tiffany and Vern are dedicated to helping children. They served as foster parents for several years before adopting two wonderful children. Vern lives in Denton County with his wife, children, and a poodle named, Libby. In his free time, Vern coaches his son's soccer team, and enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with his family.
