Delus Montgomery

Judith Delus Montgomery is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Atlanta Family & Immigration Law (AFIL), one of the few law firms in Georgia dedicated to both family law and immigration law under one roof. A respected attorney, educator, author, and media legal analyst, Judith is known for helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions with compassion, strategy, and results. Born in the Bahamas to Haitian immigrant parents, Judith immigrated to the United States at the age of four and was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a first-generation American, she witnessed firsthand the sacrifices immigrant families make to build a better future. Those experiences inspired her lifelong commitment to protecting families, advocating for vulnerable communities, and ensuring every client has a voice. Judith earned her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Education from Florida State University on a full academic scholarship before receiving her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. During law school, she completed a judicial externship with the 13th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in Tampa, Florida. She began her legal career as a prosecutor with the 15th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in West Palm Beach, where she developed extensive courtroom and trial experience. She later relocated to Atlanta after accepting a position as an Administrative Law Judge with the Georgia Department of Labor, further strengthening her litigation and judicial experience before launching her private practice. Today, Judith leads AFIL, representing clients throughout Georgia in complex family law matters—including divorce, child custody, legitimation, child support, contempt actions, and adoptions—as well as a wide range of immigration matters, including family-based immigration, removal defense, humanitarian relief, and citizenship. She also oversees the firm’s estate planning and residential real estate closing practice, providing clients with comprehensive legal services through every stage of life.
