Devyn Leach

Devyn was born and raised in West Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2014. She earned her Juris Doctor from West Virginia University in 2019. Devyn remains a partner at Jim Leach, LC, however, is currently on an extended family sabbatical. Prior to attending law school, Devyn took a couple of years to travel Southeast Asia teaching English as a second language. She also spent a summer as an intern at Jim LC where she assisted in numerous personal injury cases. During law school Devyn worked in the Immigration Clinic to help clients with cases including deportation and asylum, and residency issues. She also held the position of vice president and president of the Environmental Law Society and served on the Sustainable Energy committee to help the school reduce carbon energy emission. Devyn competed in multiple trial competitions and was selected as a sponsored competitor. She worked through law school at the Office of Technology Transfer where she negotiated and executed contracts to protect the intellectual property rights of West Virginia University Professors and PhD students. After law school, Devyn went to work for Jim Leach LC, where she continues to gain experience in personal injury and workers compensation claims. She has been put on the court appointed list from misdemeanor criminal defense and abuse and neglect cases in Monongalia and Monroe County. Jim treated me well and kept me informed – you couldn’t find a better attorney. Jim is amazing, and Parkersburg is truly a better place because of him.
