Biography

Ed Atkinson is the founding attorney of Atkinson Law and represents people injured through negligence in Norfolk and across Virginia. Admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2008, Ed handles car and truck accidents, dog attacks, wrongful death, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect and other serious personal injury matters. Discuss Your Injury With Ed Ed founded Atkinson Law to provide clients with direct attorney involvement and legal representation tailored to their individual circumstances. Rather than treating an injury claim as one more file in a high-volume practice, Ed focuses on understanding how the accident occurred, how the injuries have affected the client and what evidence is needed to support the claim. His professional background includes courtroom litigation, public-defense work and experience on the insurance-defense side of accident claims. This experience helps Ed understand how insurers investigate accidents, question liability, review medical treatment and evaluate damages. Ed has handled personal injury matters involving motor-vehicle collisions, pedestrian injuries, dog attacks, nursing home neglect, medical malpractice and preventable deaths. Ed earned his bachelor’s degree in Classical Languages and Literature from the University of Michigan, where he studied Latin and Ancient Greek and received the Phillips Prize for Latin Translation. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.
