Biography

For close to two decades, Edward Kraus has focused his legal practice on representing clients seeking compensation for injuries either caused by or exacerbated by vaccines. As a vaccine injury attorney representing clients throughout the United States, Ed has seen, time-and-time again, the life-changing effects vaccine injuries can cause. With a client base made up of both children and adults who have suffered injuries ranging from minor to life-altering, Ed understands that his clients have truly suffered and invests fully in fighting to obtain the best possible results through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP). In addition to understanding the true human cost of a vaccine injury, Ed has a unique perspective on the way the vaccine injury program is administered. From September 2011 to December 2016, he served on the Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines (ACCV), a commission that consists of nine members who provide input to the Secretary of Health & Human Services regarding the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. He is also active in the Vaccine Injured Petitioner's Bar and currently serves on the Board of Directors. For more than 20 years Ed was also a Clinical Professor of Law at the Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. At Chicago-Kent, Ed directed the Federal Health Litigation Clinic, where, along with his partners, Amy Kraus and Brynna Gang, his practice focused primarily on representing the vaccine injured Prior to joining Chicago-Kent, he was an attorney at the law firm of Plotkin, Jacobs & Orlofksy, Ltd., where he focused on complex civil litigation and consumer class actions. Before that, he represented low-income clients as an attorney at Legal Action of Wisconsin. Ed received a B.A. (Phi Beta Kappa) in English from the University of Michigan and a J.D. (cum laude) from Georgetown University Law Center. Ed lives in a near-north suburb of Chicago with his wife, Amy, with whom he has two grown sons. He is an avid, lifelong Chicago Cubs and baseball fan. On a sunny day (or any day), you can find Ed and Amy out at the dog park (or dog beach) with their yellow lab, Scout.
