Biography
Zelazny Business Bankruptcy was founded in 1996 by Eric Zelazny to do one thing: help Illinois small business owners navigate their worst financial moments — and come out the other side with a plan.
Most bankruptcy attorneys understand the law. Eric Zelazny understands the numbers behind it too — because before he ever set foot in a courtroom, he spent over a decade as a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG, one of the largest accounting firms in the world.
That foundation changes everything about how Eric approaches a case. He doesn’t just file paperwork — he reads your financials, understands your tax exposure, and builds a strategy that accounts for the full picture of your situation, not just the legal piece.
It’s a combination his clients describe as rare. It genuinely is.
Eric graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with Honors — home to one of the nation’s consistently top-ranked accounting programs. He then passed the CPA exam on his first attempt, a milestone reached by fewer than 28% of those who sit for it.
