Biography

Esteban Sandoval is a first-generation Mexican American whose journey to the legal profession began in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. At the age of three, his parents moved the family to El Paso, Texas, in search of a better life for their three children. Though Spanish was the primary language of his household, Esteban’s natural leadership and adaptability flourished in the Texas public school system, where he excelled academically and served as a team captain and all-district athlete in both football and track. He carried this drive to the University of Texas at Austin, earning a bachelor’s degree in government with a minor in Spanish. It was during his undergraduate years, while working for an injury attorney, that Esteban discovered his calling. Witnessing how the negligence of others could devastate lives and how a dedicated advocate could provide a path to recovery, he developed a profound respect for the profession that led him to the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Since entering practice, Esteban has dedicated himself to representing real people, helping thousands of clients achieve multimillion-dollar recoveries. In 2016, he co-founded Sandoval & James with Benedict James to raise the standards of the legal profession, and he remains a founding partner in firms across two separate jurisdictions, including SJW Injury Attorneys. His commitment to excellence has earned him recognition from the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, and prestigious membership in both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Beyond the courtroom, Esteban is a fervent advocate for fair laws and courthouse access. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and is an active member of the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association. Fully bilingual and deeply rooted in both the Austin and Las Vegas communities, he treats every client with the same devotion he gives his own family. When he is not working, Esteban brings that same intensity and heart to his role as a father, ensuring that his firm remains a place where people from all walks of life can find a voice. Whether an accident involves minor injuries or catastrophic harm, Sandoval & James is available to assist those seeking a car wreck lawyer near you.
