In the summer of 2008, I received some of the worst news I could have imagined. My mother and sister had been involved in a car accident, and my sister was in the hospital. At the hospital, my father pulled my brother and I aside and told us that our mother had been killed in the crash. She would not be coming home. I would never get to see her alive again, to see her smile, or laugh. I would never get to hug her or even tell her that I love her again. My entire family was devastated. Our lives will never be the same again. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my mother. I still dream of her often. There are good memories and painful ones.
