Biography

George says he knew within 10 minutes of being in Pullman that he would stay here for the rest of his life. A passionate and dedicated trial lawyer, George’s efforts have literally changed the way the State handles medical malpractice claims for child victims. He decided he wanted to be a personal injury trial lawyer. I was born in Bellevue, Washington to Bud and Kathy Telquist. My parents were hard working, my dad a truck driver and my mom worked in a convenience store. I spent most of my youth in Woodinville, Washington where I was an active member on school activities and sports. A strong family value in my home growing up was work ethic. I had my first job at 14, working the full-service gas pumps at the convenience store where my mom worked. This was the beginning of my core value of a strong work ethic and also convinced me that I enjoyed working with people. After graduating from Woodinville High School, I attended Washington State University, graduating in 1993. Although raised in the shadows of the University of Washington, I often say that I was in Pullman for 10 minutes and was a life-long Coug. I also fell in love with the Eastern Washington lifestyle and values. While at WSU, I considered multiple professions, all of which included helping people in times of need.  I ultimately decided to attend law school, attending Gonzaga University School of Law, serving on Law Review as an Associate Editor and had the honor of serving as the chairperson of the William O. Douglass Committee. Upon graduating from Gonzaga, I had opportunities to move to larger cities to practice. However, my love for Eastern Washington kept me in the area and I accepted a job in Kennewick, Washington. As a young associate lawyer, I quickly found my passion – trial work. I further found that I enjoyed helping those injured by others. I decided I wanted to be a personal injury trial lawyer.
