Biography
Heidi Troxell handles all aspects of family law matters and focuses on cases that impact children, including divorce, parental rights, child support, juvenile delinquency, grandparent visitation and post-decree modifications. She is a JD/MSW which is unique in the field and provides her with an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving in the best interests of families.
During her 20 years of legal practice, Heidi has served clients in Pueblo, Arapahoe, Mesa, Delta, Montrose, Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Rio Blanco, Routt and Pitkin Counties. She is a regular fixture on the Western Slope and is familiar with the various jurisdictions. Heidi firmly believes that building relationships with the bench and opposing attorneys gets her clients the best outcomes.
Before entering private practice, Heidi Troxell spent seven years at the Colorado Public Defender’s Office representing clients charged with all manner of felonies and misdemeanors, working alongside criminal defense attorney Scott Troxell in complex criminal matters. As a defense lawyer for criminal cases, Ms. Troxell negotiated thousands of cases, conducted 50+ jury trials, drafted and argued countless motions, and defended clients against everything from DUI’s to homicides and sex offenses. Since 2015 Ms. Troxell has focused her litigation practice on juvenile and family law. She enjoys working directly with her clients and fiercely advocating on their behalf.
Heidi is a native of Florida but considers Colorado home. Outside of the office she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two children.
