Biography
Howard Mishkind is the founding shareholder of Mishkind Kulwicki Law Co., L.P.A., where his practice focuses on personal injury litigation, representing injured patients and their families in medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and catastrophic injuries arising from motor vehicle and truck collisions. He takes great pride in fighting for justice for those injured by the wrongful conduct of others.
Howard is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he taught Medical Malpractice to upper-level students. He continues to be invited to provide guest lectures on evidence and personal injury at the law school. Over the years, he has participated in numerous seminars locally and throughout Ohio on matters relating to personal injury, medical malpractice, and civil litigation, and has made numerous appearances on local radio and television stations.
Howard is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Academy of Justice, and the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. He is also actively involved in issues concerning attorney ethics, having investigated and litigated claims against attorneys involving violations of the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct and served as an expert witness in professional negligence matters. He serves on various committees of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, including the Court Rules Committee and the Certified Grievance Committee.
His work has earned consistent recognition from his peers. Howard has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers every year since 2006—a distinction awarded to only 5% of lawyers in Ohio—and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2012. He has held an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1994, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. He maintains a 10.0 Superb rating on Avvo and received the Avvo Clients' Choice Award in 2015. He has also been certified by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as a Top 10 personal injury attorney in Ohio since 2014.
Howard has been deeply involved in the Cleveland-Marshall Law Alumni Association, serving as President from 1991 to 1992 and chairing or co-chairing the Annual Recognition Luncheon from 1992 through 2012. He was honored as Outstanding Alumnus of the Year in 2003. He also served on the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2010 and chaired the Cuyahoga County Bar Association Certified Grievance Committee from 2003 to 2005.
