A native of South Carolina, James R. Snell, Jr. is the founder of the Law Office of James R. Snell, Jr., LLC, in Lexington. Primarily a criminal defense attorney, he represents people statewide accused of felonies and misdemeanors, including:

After completing his undergraduate studies at Limestone University in 2001, Mr. Snell joined the University of South Carolina School of Law for his legal studies. He also holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree in the field of management from Harvard University. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2004 and was admitted to practice law by the South Carolina Bar the same year.
Mr. Snell is authorized to practice law before federal and appellate courts across the state, including the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is also certified by the Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on CLE and Specialization as a circuit court mediator.
