Biography
Pablo has served as the Executive Director of Christian Legal Aid of D.C. since February 2025. Before joining CLADC, Pablo served for 17+ years at International Justice Mission – IJM, a faith-based, global nonprofit organization that protects people in poverty from violence. As a Regional President, Latin America, he led transformation projects to increase protection from violence and access to justice for women, children, and vulnerable groups in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Perú, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Colombia. He also significantly contributed to IJM’s leadership development, revenue, and operations at a global level.
Pablo was born and raised in Guatemala, where he earned his law degree from Rafael Landivar University School of Law. He clerked at civil and criminal courts in Guatemala’s judicial courts and then practiced law with his father. He also served as external legal counsel to international and local nonprofit organizations. In addition, Pablo taught Constitutional Law and Human Rights at his alma mater.
In addition to his law degree, Pablo obtained a master’s in organizational leadership from Eastern University and executive leadership studies from Harvard University and Cornell.
Pablo has been married for 33 years and has three adult children.
A native Puerto Rican, Sheily has traveled and lived in several countries. Before joining CLADC she worked as Federal Criminal Defense Legal Assistant for a small law firm in Puerto Rico and as an accountant at Public Housing Project, and spent several years volunteering with Christian Legal Clinics of Philadelphia. Sheily obtained her BA from the University of Puerto Rico, her Juris Doctorate from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and an LL.M. from Temple University in Japan. She has also studied abroad in Europe and China.
