John R. Bevis

A partner at Barnes Law Group, John R. Bevis is tenacious consumer litigation and personal injury attorney in Marietta, Georgia. He has 25-plus years of trial experience and efficiently handles a range of matters including personal injury, medical malpractice, brain and spinal injuries, product liability, nursing home abuse wrongful death, consumer class actions and mass torts.  In his consumer litigation practice, Mr. Bevis handles a variety of complex litigation and class action lawsuits to address industry conduct resulting in wide-scale harm to individuals and consumers. He received his Juris Doctor in 1995 from the Florida State University College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Moot Court Appellate Team and a research editor of the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law. He was awarded the Law School Book Award in pretrial litigation, legal research and writing. He also interned at the Florida Supreme Court during law school. Admitted in Georgia in 1996, Mr. Bevis is also authorized to practice in Florida, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He has appeared in 27 appellate decisions of state and federal courts and made special appearances in the courts of California, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. A member of the prestigious Million and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Mr. Bevis functioned as the Chairman of the Board for Georgia Watch, a nonprofit that is the state’s leading consumer advocacy organization.
