Biography

Jon was selected as a 2017 and 2018 Texas Rising Star by Thomson Reuters. Jon is originally from the Fort Worth area. He graduated from Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business and then attended the Texas Tech School of Law. In law school, Jon participated in many practice court activities and served as an editor on two journals, the Texas Tech Law Review and the Estate Planning & Community Property Journal. In his third year of law school, Jon had the opportunity to argue a real case before one of the United States Circuit Courts, the level of court just below the U.S. Supreme Court. After serving as a law clerk to one of the Lubbock District Courts, Jon worked as a law clerk with the firm and then went on to work as an attorney in the firm’s litigation department for three years. After a two-and-a-half-year absence during which he had his own law firm and relocated to Austin, he rejoined the firm to serve as managing attorney for its Austin office. Jon has focused his entire career on representing people and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries or wrongful deaths. He prides himself on his ability to understand and explain to juries the true harm caused by injuries and the ways in which an injury can drastically alter a person’s life. Over the years, Jon has represented people in serious workplace injuries, commercial trucking cases, significant motor vehicle and motorcycle crashes, pipeline explosions, premises liability claims, pedestrian accidents, and various other situations. His aggressive style has led to successful outcomes in settlements and trials for hundreds of clients.
