Joseph J. Reiter

A highly regarded civil trial lawyer, Joseph J. Reiter is a partner at Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath. Focusing his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, he represents clients throughout the state of Florida from the firm’s office in West Palm Beach. Mr. Reiter attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate and earned a Bachelor of Arts. He subsequently pursued his legal education as a Dana Scholar at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, and in 1968, he received his Juris Doctor. Mr. Reiter’s cases have arisen out of incidents involving medical malpractice, truck and other types of motor vehicle accidents, and products liability. During his distinguished career, he has been able to obtain in excess of $100 million in jury awards for his plaintiff clients, and he has garnered millions of dollars more through settlements that he has negotiated out of court. In one of his representative medical malpractice cases involving a birth injury, a $35 million settlement was obtained prior to going to trial. These and other results have earned Mr. Reiter a significant amount of recognition from his clients. Mr. Reiter has been certified as a specialist in civil trial law by the Board of Legal Specialization & Education of The Florida Bar.
