Biography
Joseph Reiter's highly successful legal career is well documented by his many contributions to the profession, his reputation among the legal community, and his leadership.Trying cases throughout Florida and the United States, Joe's experience and hard work have resulted in many multi-million dollar verdicts totaling more than $100 million for his clients. He is recognized as one of the best personal injury lawyers in the United States by the prestigious publication The Best Lawyers in America.Joe's reputation as a fighter was born of survival. He grew up in a near-north-side Chicago slum tenement, in a rough neighborhood shared by several gangs, and learned early on that hard work and education were his only way out of poverty. He enlisted in the U.S. Army twice — the first time, he was sent home for being too young — and went on to serve in the Seventh Infantry Division in Korea.Joe attended the University of Illinois and earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University, where he was a Dana Scholar. On the eve of his graduation in 1968, he accepted an offer to join a West Palm Beach law firm, where he practiced alongside Lake Lytal, Jr. until the two of them started their own firm together in 1985."
