Katy Meraz

Katy Meraz is a duly licensed attorney providing comprehensive legal services to clients throughout Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she studied Economics and received her Bachelor’s Degree. She subsequently received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. With a longstanding passion to help those in her community and to support the needs of those who lack adequate access to justice and resources, she pursued a career in personal injury. An experienced trial attorney, she has represented clients in a variety of personal injury matters including 18-wheeler truck accidents, car accidents, UM/UIM claims, wrongful death, work injuries, and premises liability claims. Furthermore, with experience gained from her work at several prominent Mass Torts law firms across Houston, she is well-versed in matters related to pharmaceutical and product liability cases. Katy Meraz was recognized as one of Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2024 and 2025. This peer designation is awarded to less than 2.5% of all attorneys in the State of Texas. Moreover, a former President of the Hispanic Law Students Association at South Texas College of Law, she remains a strong advocate for diversity, both within the legal profession and in the courtroom. Similarly, as a Mexican-American female attorney, she represents less than 3% of the licensed lawyers in the United States. With a commitment to her clients through active communication and compassion, she vigorously aims to deliver the best possible result for each client. When not working, Katy, an avid cinephile and dedicated musical theater enthusiast, can be found watching the latest movie on the big screen or catching a show at the Hobby Center with her family.
