Marcos Rodriguez serves as the Founder and Attorney here at The Rodriguez Law Firm. Since taking over the firm from Sylvia Lopez, he has been working to continue her legacy of service, excellence, and generosity in our community. He is a Trial Attorney, Applicant Attorney & SSDI Representative, and has worked at the firm since 2012. Marcos was born and raised in Bakersfield, California as the son of two successful local lawyers, and speaks both English and Spanish. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009 with a double major in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, and from Loyola University Chicago with his Juris Doctorate and a certificate in trial advocacy in 2012. He is proud to represent his clients in personal injury civil cases, workers' compensation claims, and social security disability applications, advocating on their behalf before superior court judges, jurors, federal magistrates, and administrative law judges. He works hard to present their stories in an effective manner so that they receive every dollar and benefit owed to them under the law. And, most importantly he takes the time to listen, understand where they are in their lives, and try to relieve the stress that comes with litigation and insurance claims. He knows that the law can make our clients feel lost and misunderstood, so he ensures our team is here to help lift those burdens and relieve that stress so our clients can move forward with their lives. When he isn't working for our clients, he is likely spending time with his beautiful wife and two daughters.
As a Trial Attorney, Applicant Attorney & SSDI Representative with 36 years of experience, Sylvia Lopez has handled many multi-million dollar cases, and in 2014 acquired a 15.7 million dollar jury verdict for her client, along with countless other victories througout the tenure of her practice. Sylvia grew up in a Spanish-speaking farm worker family in the farmtown of Clarksburg, southwest of Sacramento. In 1977, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Berkeley, and in 1980, she graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California Los Angeles Law School. Before starting her own firm, she worked as a Deputy Public Defender handling misdmenor and felony trials, and as a Prosecutor at the Agricultural Labor Relations Board. She is also a member of California State Bar, Kern County Bar Association, and Kern County Women Lawyer’s Association. In 1985, she opened the Law Office of Sylvia Lopez, which she proudly retired from in 2023, handing the reins to her son, Marcos Rodriguez. She continues practicing law at The Rodriguez Law Firm, where she enjoys connecting with our clients and delivering successful case results.
