Matt Elwell helps his clients during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Be it a motorist seriously injured by the careless driving of an 18-wheeler, a family mourning the loss of a loved one in a wrongful death case, or an employee who was injured because their employer did not provide them the tools, training, and supervision necessary to do their job safely, Matt is dedicated to working hard for his clients. Matt understands the importance of getting into the ring of fire for his clients and fighting for them.
Matt Elwell handles a variety of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle and trucking accident cases, work injuries, brain injuries, wrongful death cases, oil field injuries, and many other civil litigation cases for the firm.
Matt represents clients by way of his license to practice law in the State of Texas including the Southern, Northern, Eastern, and Western Federal Districts of Texas as well as in the State of New Mexico.
Matt Elwell is an East Texas native, born in Longview and raised in the small town of Greenville. He’s been a Houston resident since 2009 and recently put down roots in Houston’s Heights neighborhood.
Prior to becoming an associate at the Amaro Law Firm, Matt Elwell worked as an attorney at a Houston-based Criminal Defense firm for over two years. His time in criminal defense allowed him to sharpen his litigation techniques. It can take years for a civil lawyer to get half the amount of courtroom and trial experience Matt Elwell received during his time as a criminal defense attorney. Prior to that, Mr. Elwell worked at a boutique downtown civil firm. There, he was able to handle a range of legal matters such as personal injury, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices cases, and other civil litigation matters. Mr. Elwell firmly believes clients deserve someone who is willing to fight for their rights and obtain their rightful compensation.
