Biography
Michael A. Atter, J.D., an âA.V.-Preeminentâ rated attorney. Likewise, he is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A., Magna Cum Laude, English 1976) and the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, FL (J.D. 1979).
In addition, Michael is a member of the Florida Bar and Federal Bar-Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Atter joined the Firm as an Associate in 1981 and has served as the Managing Partner since 1996, where he has overseen the growth of the Firm from two attorneys to its present configuration, encompassing five attorneys and two locations. Likewise, he has expanded its areas of practice from personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, and criminal law to include business, estate planning, employment, sports and entertainment, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and foreclosure defense.
Prior to coming to the Firm, he served as Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where he prosecuted juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony offenses, including murder cases, from 1979 to 1981. When he left the State Attorneyâs Office to join the Firm, he was a Circuit Court Division Head.
At Wood, Atter & Wolf, P.A., Mr. Atter has primarily represented Plaintiffs in Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, and Medical Malpractice cases. However, being a veteran of jury trials and high-end injury cases, he has concentrated in the areas of traumatic brain injury, trucking accidents and complex medical negligence cases.
