MM
Biography
CST Attorneys grew out of the successful solo practice established by attorney Michael M. Considine in 1986. A grandchild of Irish immigrants, who also had strong ties to the Latino community, Mr. Considine dedicated himself, both through legal representation and through community service, to the rights of immigrants. CST was built on this strong foundation and history of community service, establishing itself as a professional corporation in January of 2003.
A native of Berkeley, California, Mr. Considine spent his formative years in Sonoma, California. He served in the Air Force from 1961 to 1967, and graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Political Science in January 1966.
After college, Mr. Considine attended Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, graduating in May of 1969. He spent three summers at the Universidad de Las Americas in Mexico City, Mexico. He returned to Latin America in 1971 and was a banker in Panama until 1974.
Mr. Considine left his career in banking to pursue what he felt was a more fulfilling career, one in which as he expressed “the rewards emanated from helping others, and not from drawing a big paycheck.” After graduating from McGeorge Law School in May 1986, he opened an immigration office in South Lake Tahoe in December 1986. He later opened a second office in Sacramento.
Throughout his career, Mr. Considine was active in the immigrant community. He was often featured on Univision, and also appeared in the Sacramento Bee. Mr. Considine served as an advisor to the California Hispanic Resource Center in Sacramento, and enjoyed selling “paletas” at the annual “Cinco de Mayo” celebration, while also offering immigration consultations. As an Irishman who loved to talk, he participated in a monthly radio show, answering questions from the public. Using his fluency in Spanish, Mr. Considine traveled to Baja Mexico as a volunteer with The Flying Samaritans, providing medical care and supplies to rural communities.
