Biography
Michael began his legal career practicing criminal law in Chicago at the Cook County Office of the Public Defender, Felony Trial Division at 26th and California. He handled a wide variety of criminal cases, including violent and gang related cases. Michael moved back to Tennessee and after working for several years as an in-house corporate attorney for D1 Sports, in 2009, Michael entered private practice focusing his practice entirely on criminal defense cases in Tennessee.
As an attorney, Mr. Shipman has enjoyed handling criminal defense cases all across the state and as of 2017, has practiced in 35 Tennessee counties.
