Bob Maddox will be fondly remembered as a loving and gifted colleague and mentor to many. He was a dedicated advocate and a friend to many. His commitment to justice and his unwavering fight for homeowners’ rights shaped Nevada law and improved countless lives. His wisdom, integrity, and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his impact will endure, and his legacy will continue to inspire. We will remain dedicated to Bob’s relentless pursuit of advocacy for Nevada homeowners and community associations. His passion for justice, his unwavering commitment, and his tireless efforts to protect Nevadans will never be forgotten. As a brilliant attorney, he is most notably remembered as “The Father of Construction Defect Law in Nevada.” Bob graduated with honors from Brown University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. He received his law degree in 1970 from Harvard’s highly esteemed Law School. Bob was often referred to as “the father of construction defect law in Nevada” because he played the leading and pivotal role in creating Nevada’s first construction defect statute, NRS Chapter 40. NRS Chapter 40 gives Nevada homeowners and community associations the right to receive full compensation for faulty construction.
