Thomas takes pride in representing individuals against large corporations, hospital systems, and insurance companies. In his family law practice, Thomas helps clients navigate the wickedness of divorce, ensure his client’s financial stability, and help them find peace in surviving one of the most challenging times of life. In addition to his trial practice, Thomas is a seasoned and skillful appellate advocate. Thomas has served as lead appellate counsel in dozens of cases in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court. Thomas D. Bumgardner grew up in his father’s law firm offices. “I remember as a little kid watching my dad work with people who came in the office crying or just out of the doctor’s office,” says Thomas. “My dad had a way of listening and understanding people’s stories on how they were injured or how their relationship had fallen apart. I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer from a very young age.”
