Biography

For over 20 years, Vi Nanthaveth has been a formidable force in U.S. immigration law, guiding thousands of families, professionals, and businesses toward their American dreams. As the founder of Nanthaveth & Associates, she built her practice on two core values: the strategic advocacy needed to win complex immigration cases and the compassionate guidance that helps clients feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. “No matter how many cases I’ve won, each victory feels like the very first one. Every approval, every family reunited, every client’s relief—it never loses its meaning.” — Vi Nanthaveth Vi’s story began in Laos, where her family fled conflict and resettled in the United States as refugees. Experiencing the challenges of cultural adaptation, language barriers, and immigration paperwork firsthand gave her a unique, deeply personal understanding of what her clients face today. This experience is not just part of her past; it is the driving force behind her practice. Before dedicating her life to law, Vi earned a Master’s degree in Photojournalism and began her career as a news anchor and reporter. This background honed her ability to communicate clearly and connect with people from all walks of life. However, her personal history instilled a lifelong commitment to helping others navigate the same obstacles her family had overcome. This calling led her to law school and, ultimately, to establishing Nanthaveth & Associates—a firm built to serve immigrants with dignity, honesty, and unwavering support.
